1870-1900 antique Victorian walking jacket
I come across lots of these jackets, but this is the first one I've ever purchased for my personal collection. Crisp cotton, handmade lace and very large blood stains on the shoulder. It doesn't look like it in the photos, but there was a lot of blood (mostly to the left shoulder & back). After 5 days of soaking, most of the blood came out - but I'm glad that it didn't all come out, because it was part of the reason I purchased it in the first place - morbid I know. What a mystery ..!
Stunning! The white is so sharp. I can only imagine how much it brightened up after 5 days of soaking!!!
